| Título: | FOTOENVELHECIMENTO: A ACELERAÇÃO DO ENVELHECIMENTO DA PELE PELA EXPOSIÇÃO AOS RAIOS ULTRAVIOLETA |
| Autores: | França Silva, Letícia Helena |
| Palavras Chave: | Envelhecimento. Pele. Raios Ultravioleta Aging. Skin. Ultraviolet Ray |
| Data: | 2024 |
agentes ambientais, especialmente a radiação ultravioleta (UV).
principal fator do fotoenvelhecimento.
Embora a
| Descrição: | Skin aging is a complex biological process, categorized as intrinsic and extrinsic. The former
results from genetic and hormonal factors, while the latter is influenced by environmental
agents, especially ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Chronic sun exposure promotes photoaging,
which affects areas like the face and hands. UV rays cause cellular damage, accelerating the
degradation of collagen and elastin, essential for the skin's firmness and elasticity. These
damages also increase oxidative stress and contribute to the appearance of wrinkles, spots, and
loss of skin vitality. The objective of this study is to investigate the cellular and molecular
mechanisms involved in skin aging, with an emphasis on ultraviolet (UV) radiation as the
main factor in photoaging. This work is a integrative literature review, analyzing articles
published between 2014 and 2024 in the PUBMED database in English, Portuguese, and
French. Ten relevant studies were selected from the 565 found. Although moderate sun
exposure (10 to 30 minutes, 2 to 3 times a week) is beneficial for vitamin D synthesis, it is
essential to use sunscreen, appropriate clothing, and antioxidant products to avoid the harmful
effects of the sun. In summary, a balanced and conscious approach to sun exposure is crucial
for preserving skin health and appearance. |
